Today started Holy Week with Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead. Lazarus is believed to have been a close childhood friend of Jesus’ from Nazareth. To most this is just another one of Jesus’ miracles. But what most people fail to realize is this is the miracle that pushed the Pharisees, Sadducees, and the Sanhedrin over the edge. After this miracle they plotted to have Him killed. Jesus did this miracle to bring back His friend knowing the consequence would be putting in motion His suffering to fulfill the Old Testament prophecies and sacrifice Himself for us.
